Lions and Tigers and Lady Bears, oh my –

The Baylor Lady Bears (28-2, 17-1) clinched the No. 1 seed after the team earned its seventh-straight and eighth overall regular season title Saturday afternoon. The Lady Bears lead the conference in nine different statistics, including scoring offense and scoring defense. In fact, Baylor broke a record with how much it scored during Big 12 play:

Of course, you’ve always got to stop and enjoy the moment while at the top.

The Lady Bears face the winner of No. 8 TCU and No. 9 Texas Tech Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CT on FSN.

Here come the Horns –

Coming in as the No. 2 seed, the Texas Longhorns (22-7, 15-3) look to keep their new winning streak alive. The Horns lost three in a row before capturing a regular season-ending victory on the road. Senior Brianna Taylor had an impressive night:

Along with Taylor, the Longhorns will have fellow senior Kelsey Lang on the floor. Both were honored prior to their final home game last Friday night:

Texas faces the winner of No. 7 Oklahoma State and No. 10 Kansas on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. CT on FSN.

Here comes the BOOM(ER):

Third-seeded Oklahoma look to make some noise as it looks to shake off Monday’s loss and advance in the Championship.

Along with Baylor and Texas in the polls, the Sooners have been ranked in the AP Poll for 38 consecutive weeks (tied for the 10th-longest active streak in the country). Oklahoma also owned a 10-game home win streak and hosted Senior Night on Monday. This video explains the Sooners’ senior class:

Indoor Track and Field Championships: Feb. 24-25

The 2017 Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place February 24-25 at the Lied Recreation Center in Ames, Iowa. This marks the eighth time Iowa State has hosted the event.

Last season, the Oklahoma State men captured their second indoor crown while the Texas women claimed their eighth title.

Highlighting the women’s competition is Cowgirl senior Kaela Edwards who set the collegiate 1.000-meter record of 2:40.79. Edwards was recently added to the Bowerman Awards watch list and is one of only 12 women in the world this year to finish the mile under 4:30. She is ninth in the world in the event.

On the men’s side Kansas’ freshman weight throw Gleb Dudarv starts off this collegiate career by earning two Big 12 Athletes of the Week. He has recorded the second farthest through in school history and is second on the collegiate lists for 2017 in the event. He currently leads the league’s top-ranked weight thrower with the mark sitting as the farthest by a Big 12 thrower since 2007.

Baylor women check in at No. 7 marking the highest ranking in school history, followed by No. 8 Texas and No. 12 Kansas State in the USTFCCCA top 25.

Four conference squads sit in the top 25 in the Men’s USTFCCCA rankings: No. 6 Kansas, No. 14 Texas, No. 16 Texas Tech & No. 20 Oklahoma State as of February 20.
